New sci-fi series Dark Matter premieres on Apple TV+ this week.

Starring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, the series follows a physicist who is kidnapped on his way home one night and wakes up in an unfamiliar world. He doesn’t recognize his wife and his friends no longer recognize him, but he discovers he’s somehow created a device capable of reaching alternate versions of his life.

Which may explain his recent disorientation.

The question then becomes how he got to the version he’s currently inhabiting and more importantly how he’s going to get back to how own life. Standing in his way is a foe he understands all too well.

The nine-episode series is based on the novel of the same name by Blake Crouch, who is also one of the showrunners.

The first two episodes of Dark Matter are available on AppleTV+ from May 8, with one a week after that.
