The latest update for space-based RPG Starfield comes out of beta next week, aiming to bring players back into the fold.

The update addresses a major performance gripe by adding support for 60FPS, with options to shift between performance and visual modes for console gamers.

Surface maps have also been significantly improved making it much easier to navigate around cities. New satellite-style maps provide an aerial view of every planet's surface, including accurate pins for major landmarks.

Players will also be able to fully customize ship interiors in the same way as terrestrial outposts and can even start decorating from scratch with new habitat modules that arrive empty and completely customizable.

Starfield Update 4 is available for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Stream from May 15. Until then the beta is only available for PC.
